Implementing phase 2 of the project to remediate dioxin pollution at Da Nang airport, construction units of the Air Defense - Air Force and US contractors will excavate more than 73,000 m3 of soil and contaminated sediment to be put into a furnace at high temperature using thermal desorption technology. This is the first advanced technology used worldwide to treat dioxin. Contaminated soil and sediment after heat treatment will return to their original position through the third category of the project.
